Don Shaw
H.R. Manager
About Me:
2020 will be my 5th Rally having taken part in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. My experience is born out of a varied and demanding career in the British Armed Forces spanning over 39 years’ having served all over the World. I have spent my last 15 years in the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 and was one of the Royal Navy’s top manpower co-ordinators specialising in Human Resources, Leadership and Management. On completion of my Military contract I took up the role of Head of Rugby Operations for Harlequins FC Ltd one of the top professional rugby teams in England. After 3 seasons of working 6.5 days per week, I decided that I needed to spend more quality time with my friends and family. I moved to a position nearer to home as the Park Operations Manager and Head of Security for Bunn Leisure in Chichester. I was very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to re-join the Senior Service in 2015, I extremely enjoy my role as the second in Command of the Royal Navy’s HQ for Physical Training and People Support in Portsmouth.
Alongside my brother Steve, I was a Marshal for the Rally for Heroes event in 2012, and the HR Manager for the 2014, 2016 and 2018 Rally's. I am very much looking forward to contributing to the undoubted success of the 2020 event.

Why am I participating in ‘Rally for Heroes’ 2020?
Being an active member of the Armed Forces since 1975, I am fully aware of the impact made on our men, women and their families who have been involved in operations on the front line. Often there is no visible scars or injury but they are suffering mentally from the devastation and trauma they have experienced. We need to ensure that SSAFA with our help is well placed financially to mentor and support all of our veterans and their families if required. I am confident that we will achieve our fund raising target once again and enjoy an amazing lifetime adventure. I cant wait!

My Car: West Tune Special Porsche 911 Turbo
This Porsche 911 Turbo was rebuilt by Ray West for his own personal use. It has clocked one of the fastest recorded times round the Ring for a 996 Turbo. Too many extras to list, everything that could be done to improve this machine has been done. Well known within the RfH family this 911 completed the 2016 Rally with ease.
