Rally for Heroes 2022
TERMS & CONDITIONS:

1.0 RULES / TERMS & CONDITIONS
These rules/terms and conditions relate only to The Rally for Heroes 2022, The Final Run (from here on referred to as RfH22) which will take place between 10th to 20th August 2022. Rally for Heroes is run on behalf of RfH Events Ltd.
​
2.0 ENTRANCE
​
2.1 There will be an entrance fee of £2995 for 2 x people and one vehicle to enter the event.
​
2.2 In addition to the entrance fee, everyone will be required to fundraise for the event by setting up a Virgin Money Giving account, which will, in turn, be linked directly to the RfH22 account. This will then give us our total amount raised for RfH22 at the end of the trip.
​
3.0 YOUR VEHICLE
​
3.1 Once you have entered, you must ensure that your vehicle is safe and road legal. Any modifications to your vehicle which do not comply with European road regulations will result in your participation in RfH22 being compromised.
​
4.0 SPONSORSHIP / SUPPORT
​
4.1 RfH22 will be providing livery for your car. Please contact the Admin team for further details. No personal sponsorship is allowed, as RfH22 reserves the right to offer space on your vehicle to attract corporate sponsorship.
​
5.0 RACING AND EVENT
​
5.1 RfH22 is a guided road trip, not a race and there are no competitive or timed elements. There are no cash prizes for being the first to finish any stage or event.
​
5.2 RfH22 organisers and supporters take no responsibility for any dangerous driving, accidents or damage caused by anyone taking part in the event; it is the owner / driver of the car who will be held responsible via their own motor or personal indemnity insurance, or other means.
​
6.0 THE CHARITY
​
6.1 Each entrant is required to raise a minimum of £1500 per team/vehicle entered by the start of the event. This is to be paid directly to the RfH22 chosen charity SSAFA via your Virgin Money Giving site.
Failure to raise the minimum amount may disqualify you from participation from the Rally for Heroes RfH22 event.
6.2 The charity we are sponsoring for Rally for Heroes 2022 is SSAFA http://www.ssafa.org.uk

6.3 No fundraising for other charities or good causes during RfH22 activities is permitted.
​
7.0 ALCOHOL
​
7.1 Drivers of vehicles must adhere to the alcohol blood limit for the particular country at all times. A Calibrated Police Grade Specification Alcohol / Breathalyser will be available should drivers be in any doubt.
7.2 This measurement will act as a guide only and responsibility for ensuring adherence to European alcohol blood limits remain with the entrant. Drivers should not drive until their blood alcohol level falls within the permitted range.

7.3 Don’t drink the night before if you are intending to be the first to drive the next day.
​
8.0 DOCUMENTATION AND EQUIPMENT
​
8.1 All entrants must be in possession of a valid passport and are advised to apply for an EU EHIC. Further information can be found on these websites:

9.0 REGULATIONS FOR MOTOR TRAVEL ABROAD
​
9.1 You must have a current full driving licence, car registration document, motor insurance and current MOT certificate. You must comply with all appropriate in country requirements such as but not limited to not driving under the influence of any intoxicating substances, obeying speed limits and restrictions and carry the relevant equipment such as high visibility vests, warning triangle, spare bulbs, first aid kit etc. If in doubt, please check with your vehicle insurer and organisations such as the RAC and AA.

9.2 Our tours are not races. RfH22 will not be held responsible for inappropriate, antisocial or illegal behaviour. You agree to indemnify RfH22 its partners or sponsors against any attempt by any third party to bring about a claim as a direct result of any breach by you of any laws or regulations during your participation on the tour.
​
9.3 Any form of speed detector or jammer is illegal in most of the countries we visit; some countries may include GPS Satellite Navigation speed camera location databases in this category. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are not carrying one in your car. Penalties are severe if you are found to be in possession of one.
​
9.4 The distance travelled each day is calculated to ensure we do not have to exceed any speed limits and a relaxing and stress free tour can be enjoyed by all participants.
​
9.5 All documents and equipment will be checked at the starting point by the RfH22 Scrutineers.
​
10.0 TRAVEL INSURANCE
​
10.1 All customers should ensure they have the appropriate level of valid travel insurance for the period of the tour to cover all eventualities such as but not limited to cancellation, delay, accident and sickness when travelling on any Rally for Heroes event. Insurance should be comprehensive and include all passengers, luggage and your vehicle for the entire duration of the trip.

10.2 Cover should include any passenger and vehicle repatriation costs where needed. If you do not take out travel insurance you are responsible for the repatriation of your vehicle and passengers and you agree to indemnify us against any costs that you incur.
​
11.0 CARS AND PROPERTY
​
11.1 RfH22 is not responsible for loss or damage to participant’s cars or property at any time during the tour. It is your responsibility to ensure you drive in a safe manner, remove all valuables and lock your car securely when parked. Hotel parking will generally be off road and may have secure garage parking.
12.0 EUROTUNNEL AND FERRY CROSSINGS

12.1 It is your responsibility to arrive at the departure point in plenty of time to catch the allocated crossing. If you arrive late and miss your departure it is your responsibility to pay any additional costs incurred by using an alternative.
​
13.0 LOAN EQUIPMENT
​
13.1 You will be issued with some equipment for the duration of the event; this loan will require a deposit of £250 being paid by credit or debit card. Once you have returned all of your equipment undamaged, your deposit will be refunded in full.
​
13.2 The equipment carries a serial number which is assigned to you. It is your personal responsibility to care for it and ensure its security at all times.
​
13.3 Any lost, stolen or damaged kit will be paid for from the entrant deposit.
​
14.0 CONDUCT
​
14.1 Any entrant deemed to be bringing RfH good name into disrepute or creating negative PR for sponsors, partners or supporters of RfH22 will be verbally warned and any further transgression may result in the entrant being asked to leave the event with immediate effect. No refund will be given and no correspondence entered into.
​
15.0 LEGAL
​
15.1 All Entrants will be required to sign a legally binding agreement to accept all the rules, terms and conditions of the RfH21 rally, including money laundering to indemnify the organisers against any legal recourse.
​
15.2 A scrutineering check list will also be sent out to you to complete and sign. This will be handed over and checked at the start. It is your duty to ensure that you comply with this. Failing to do so may hinder your progress and potentially your participation in the event.
​
16.0 PAYMENT SCHEDULE
​
16.1 A no refundable deposit of £500per vehicle as stated on the tour description is required at the time of booking. The outstanding amount is required no later than 30th April 2022 .
​
17.0 METHOD OF PAYMENT
​
17.1 Debit/Credit Card or Electronic funds transfer (BACS/CHAPS). It is your responsibility to ensure sufficient time is allowed for funds to clear in line with the payment schedule above.
​
18.0 CHANGE OF PARTICIPANT
​
18.1 If you are able to find a replacement for your tour slot we will be happy to provide a full refund (less deposit) on receipt of payment from the replacement. This will be your responsibility and will not be actioned by RFH Events Ltd
​
19.0 CHANGES REQUESTED BY YOU
​
19.1 We may be able to make some minor changes requested in writing by you. Where requested in reasonable time we will endeavour to accommodate minor changes and advise of any additional costs incurred.
​
20.0 CHANGES MADE BY US
​
20.1 We will at times need to make changes due to circumstances beyond our control. These may range from ferry times to change of hotel. We will notify you immediately we make the change.
​
21.0 AGE
​
21.1 You must be over 18 years or accompanied by a responsible adult to participate in a tour.
​
22.0 THIRD PARTY TRANSPORT
​
22.1 Any transport by third parties such as Eurotunnel and ferry operators will be subject to their terms and conditions. RfH22 has no control over these.
​
23.0 WHAT IS INCLUDED
a. Ferry crossings.
b. Bed & Breakfast and secure parking at all hotels. See specific tour itinerary for details where evening meals and lunch may be included.
c. Full drivers pack including tour notes contact list and useful numbers.
d. Loan of handheld radios and provision of satellite navigation location information.

24.0 WHAT IS EXCLUDED
a. All other costs not specifically included either above or in the tour itinerary such as bar or room service and spa treatments while at the hotel. You will be expected to pay for any additional items when checking out of each hotel.
b. Other costs such as road tolls, taxes fuel and any fines are your responsibility.
​
24.1 Euros are accepted in the majority of countries through which we will be travelling during RfH22 . It is wise to carry some cash in case of emergency. Many European fuel stations are unmanned, requiring you to use a credit or debit card to refuel your car. Please be advised you may incur a charge for use of this service.
​
25.0 IMAGE RIGHTS
​
25.1 By booking onto a RfH event you agree to have photographs or video footage taken of you and your vehicle. You consent to allow RfH22 to use the images for promotional, publicity and any other purposes we see fit. You may take your own photographs or video footage for personal use only and not for any commercial gain after the event.
​
26.0 COMPLAINTS
​
26.1 During the tour, please address all complaints to our Personnel Manager Don Shaw who will be travelling in one of the support vehicles, in his absence, any member of the admin team will be able to assist. After the tour, all complaints should be made in writing and received by us no later than 14 days after the completion of the tour.
​
27.0 LIABILITY
​
27.1 OUR LIABILITY TO YOU
​
27.1.1 We will endeavour to use reasonable skill and care when carrying out our contractual obligations to you to deliver all parts of the tour as described in the itinerary. We are not liable to you or a member of your party for any injuries, losses or any other liabilities incurred except where expressly stated within these terms and conditions. Our total liability to any claim presented relating to any negligent act by us shall not exceed the cost of the tour.

27.2 THIRD PARTY LIABILITY
​
27.2.1 Any part of the tour which includes goods or services delivered by a third party will be governed by the terms and conditions of the third party.
​
27.3 YOUR LIABILITY
​
27.3.1 You enter the tour completely voluntarily and with the understanding that if as a direct result of your actions you or any member of your party have an accident, sustain injury or any other incident it is entirely your responsibility and you hereby indemnify RfH, its Directors and agents in full against any claim brought by you, a member of your party or a third party.
​
28.0 CHANGES TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS
​
28.1 We may need to amend the terms and conditions at any time. If this does happen you will be notified and have the option to transfer your deposit to a different RfH event.
​
28.2 The word of any RfH22 Rally Staff regarding any other situation not covered in this document is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
