About Me:

I have been in the Royal Navy for 39 years’ and involved with the Rally since 2012. I am fortunate enough to have had a thoroughly enjoyable and varied career. 

I am Chairman of Hampshire TVR Car Club and a huge fan of motorsport. A devoted fan of music in all its forms, I play the electric guitar in a stunningly average manner! However, for me there is nothing like the sound of a V8 in full song!  Although occasionally I can be tempted by a flat 6!

I am married to my wonderful wife Jackie and have a 30 year old son and a 25 year old daughter.  I am always up for a challenge.

Why am I participating in ‘Rally for Heroes’ 2020? 

Being a member of the Armed Forces I fully appreciate the extent of the sacrifice made by our men and women on the front line.  I also understand the cost of long term medical care following injury.  We are now looking at injuries post Afghanistan that have been life-changing for service personnel and their families which is why SSAFA is such an ideal partner in this venture. So, I hope to achieve our fund-raising target once again and have another challenging adventure.

My Car:  The 5.0L V8 Chimaera

 The TVR Chimaera 500 is powered by a five-litre, 320bhp V8 engine, it is capable of 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, and has a top speed of almost 170mph.  In Greek mythology, a Chimaera is a fire-breathing monster with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail. You will never have heard a sound as thunderous as it does in the Chimaera. Your spine doesn't just tingle, it shudders!
