Team Echo

Team Echo, so good you’ll hear us laughing time and time again! All for one and one for all with this bunch. With both new and old participants taking part in 2018!

Mick and Paula Clark are the Team Leaders of Group Echo. Mick is one of the Directors and started off what has become Rally for Heroes in 2010 he has served in the British Army since 1992. Paula is his ever-forgiving wife who is also the events Participant Liaison. They are both looking forward to leading Team Echo, the team that you WILL hear over and over again! Their vehicle for 2018 is an Aston Martin V8 Vantage that will be a blast on the Passes and a breeze on the lesser spotted Motorway system!

Hi my name’s Louis, this will be my second time on the rally after my first experience in 2016 when I was co-pilot for my dad. We both had a great time and are both back for more, only this time I’ll be driving myself around in my plucky little MX5. At the tender age of 18 it'll be my first time driving abroad, so watch out for me at the roundabouts!

After having such a fantastic time on the 2016 rally, we couldn’t wait to sign up for 2018. Mick and Paula were great hosts and I look forward to trying to keep up with them again, both in the bends and in the bar!

New car and a new co-pilot for this year, looking forward to putting them both through their paces!

There are many worthy causes to raise money for, none more so than SSAFA, a charity dedicated to supporting our Armed Forces, veterans and their families.

Nicole and I are a hardworking young couple (23 and 26 respectively) currently residing in the North East of England. We work together and aim to be the youngest franchisees of The Wheel Specialist UK brand.

Although neither of us are in the Armed Forces, Nicole has family members in the Forces and my father was in the RAF for over 25 years working as a Flight Sergeant at RAF Leeming. I always wanted to follow in my fathers footsteps and work on aircraft in the RAF but I was hindered by my colourblindness. I then studied my BA Hons in Aerospace Engineering at Newcastle University while working part time at The Wheel Specialist Newcastle to find my education, before deciding to pursue the prospect of my own business in the form of The Wheel Specialist franchise.

Nicole has a background in the NHS and in the private medical industry as a dietitian and nutritionalist. We met a few years ago through our mutual love of cars, driving and adventure. A year ago, almost to the day, we took the decision to start working together at The Wheel Specialist (Teesside) in order to create a successful business together. A huge career change for Nicole, and plenty more stress as she now has to put up with me all of the time!!

We both enjoy working, which takes up the majority of our life. But when we do get some down time we tend to travel, drive or go away as much as possible. In the last year we have been to Germany including the Nurburgring ring, Denmark, Czech Republic, Malta, Gozo and just recently Tenerife where we enjoy seeing as much as we can while trying to submerse ourselves in the local culture as much as possible.

There are multiple reasons we want to take part in RFH 2018 - our combined love of travel and cars being one, but specifically because we both want to give something back to those who protect our country. Especially because of our forces background.

My story

Hi thank you for visiting my page, my name is Tracy and I am a newbie to the Rally for Heroes. This will be mine and Johns first time on what sounds to be an amazing adventure for an amazing cause.

John and myself do not have military backgrounds but both our fathers were in the military. My father served his time in Northern Ireland and John‘s dad served in the Royal Air Force.

We will be taking part in the Rally for Heroes 2018 and we will be traveling 3000 miles across Europe, visiting 10 countries in 10 days in order to raise funds for an amazing charity SSAFA through Virgin Money Giving, this equates to at least 5 miles for every serviceperson that paid the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan between 2001 and 2015. You can sponsor me and John and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

We both share a passion for cars fast ones at that, although I am the bigger petrol head. We always wanted to own a unique kind of car and both had a love of Mustangs but not just any mustang, we wanted the Shelby GT 500. We scoured the country and eventually found ”The One” our pride and joy. The Shelby is a 5.4,V8, 660HP beast of American Muscle and Will be our ride for the rally.

John and myself think this is a fantastic cause and are both very honored to be a part of it.
