Chloe and Dave Tipler, will be completing their 4th Rally for Heroes event in 2018 raising much needed funds for SSAFA, the oldest Tri-Service Charity in the Country.
Dave has been in the Royal Air Force for the last 23 years and is currently working in Bristol with the Military Aviation Authority as an Engineering Officer. This will be my fourth European Rally with RFH as well as completing two UK based events since 2012. He will be accompanied in 2018 by his daughter Chloe who has been on 3 previous rallies and having recently passed her driving test is hoping to be behind the wheel instead of just following the map and operating the radio as she will have just completed her A levels and will be preparing to depart for Uni when they get back.
In 2018 they will be driving almost 3000 miles in only 10 days through 10 European Countries along some of the best driving roads in Europe, this equates to at least 5 miles for every service person that paid the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan between 2001 and 2015. This number stands at 456 lives that were lost.
After witnessing first hand the amazing work achieved by SSAFA and the difference they have made to the lives of both friends and colleagues as well as their families. As the oldest of the military charities that supports all three services, it fully deserves your support.

Hello! We are a mother and daughter team. I (Claire!) am the military wife of Benn (Rally’s Co-founder) and have always thought about doing the Rally – although not as Benn’s co-driver! I have been involved behind the scenes with RfH since its conception, but this will be my first time as an entrant. To be honest, I’m not really a petrolhead, but I’m taking part in the Rally to raise money for SSAFA, enjoy visiting the different countries and the comradeship.
As for me (Eileen), I am a petrolhead and I’ve always wanted to take part in the Rally. My father and Aunt were members of the Midland Automobile Club (MAC) and regularly competed in the Rally to Lands-end and hill climbs in a MG. This is where I got my love of cars. I have always supported the concept of RfH and my son-in-law. I have even held fundraising events where I live, on the Isle of Wight years before becoming an entrant. When Claire asked me to be her co-driver, I jumped at the chance to become part of the RfH family, raise money for SSAFA and have an unique opportunity with my daughter and my beloved Mercedes.
Our “Rally” car is Eileen’s Mercedes SLK 200. After 50 years dreaming of owing a convertible sports car, Eileen bought the SLK last year.
We are proud to be entrants in RfH and to be part of Team Hotel – The all black, 2 seater, topless German Team!! Also, with possibly the eldest entrant at 75!

Hi everyone, Melanie and I are thrilled to be participating in our 3rd RFH European tour, having thoroughly enjoyed our 2014 and 2016 adventures, looking forward to catching up with old friends and making some new ones. Anyone thinking of participating, our recommendation is do it and trust us you will never regret it. A very worthy cause indeed and 100% of monies raised going to SSAFA.

We took part in our first RFH in 2012, it was a fantastic opportunity to combine our passion for cars, travelling and raising money for military charities. We are both petrol heads and loved the experience of driving around Europe, meeting new people and being part of the RFH family, so we did it again in 2014 and 2016.
The Stage 2 tuned Audi TTRS has had a few more upgrades in preparation for the rally this year and we can’t wait to put her through her paces on some of the best roads Europe has to offer. We are excited to be part of Team Hotel again, where it appears that you have to be driving a fast black German convertible to be a member!
Karen and I both have links to the armed forces, Karen worked for Service Children's Education (SCE) in Cyprus and then in Germany where she first heard about RFH and got involved. I have worked for UKMOD and currently work for BAE Systems in Saudi Arabia. We are looking forward to the 2018 event and raising more money for SSAFA, a very worthwhile charity that does so much for so many.

Hi everyone, I am head of Community Fund Raising at SSAFA and I am delighted once again to be part of the Rally for Heroes family. They have been such great supporters over several years and it is a joy to work with many of them at events around the country and to see their hard work first hand. I am confident they will meet their fundraising target set once again at a generous £100,000. Please give generously and give us a wave when you see us on the Rally!
