Well what a spectacular year it’s been for RFH.
A superb rally, an unbelievable launch.Who won’t forget 60 cars driving down The Mall towards Buck House. A record breaking amount raised for SSAFA and a few notable firsts.
Late November and thirty rally participants were invited to a SSAFA thank you evening which was held in one of The City of Londons Livery Houses The Pewterers Hall which is steeped in history and tradition. The wine and beer flowed and canapés were demolished. A great touch from SSAFA.
Beginning of December and the annual RFH Xmas Ball shared again this year with the TVR club.
Again hosted in the Wardroom of HMS Excellent, a truly stunning venue,and on repeat steeped in history and tradition. Aperitif’s served in the lounge bar before dining. Absent friends performed with a special mention for the sad passing of Tony Coleman a true gent. Prayers said for Mike Westaway’s wife Carol.
The route for 20/20 is outlined seems we are going east again to Budapest, depending on Brexit,a huge surprise as it is confirmed that 2020 will be the end of an era the Final Run. Auction time hosted by “White Boots” James some superb items which have been begged borrowed and donated. On some items bidding was brisk with some great prices being achieved. By auction end over £7000 had been pledged. Partaay time as many people retired to very reasonably priced bar before breakfast baps at 1.00am.
Pleased to confirm there was no need for me to inspect the underside of tables for woodworm.
2018 done and dusted.
